Table included in a circular furniture flow
We know that reuse makes a difference for the environment. Therefore, we actively work to make all our tables reconditionable and circulate in the market.
To ensure a long life for our tables, they need to be taken care of and maintained. Therefore, we have clear care instructions, from daily tasks to what should be done in 10 years. That's step one for the circular life.
Step two is that it should be economically viable to replace a spare part. It should be easy to find. It should not be more expensive to use what you have than to buy new. In our collection, you can find spare parts.
Being able to recondition the table is step three. We have the knowledge to bring back tables that need refreshing and make them look like new again. Read more on our Reconditioning service.
It was in 2018 that we started reconditioning tables, regardless of brand. The experiences we have gained have given us concrete tools for what is required for our tables to be reconditioned in the future. One of them is that it should be easy to separate different materials. We have not only applied our lessons to new products, but also to existing ones. It is easy to do the right thing with new products, and it has been a challenge to succeed with the existing ones. We are not done yet. We are working on our pillar tables John and Jim throughout 2023 to increase the future reconditioning rate. When we have succeeded with that, we are still not done. We are humble in the face of the task and constantly learning new things.
The fourth step in the circular life is that the table should be able to continue its life when the user has new needs. A company may get a new profile, move or renovate. The table should be able to follow and adapt to this. All parts of the table, including the tabletop. A large rectangular table may need to become two smaller round tables. Or fittings or table legs may need a new color. After step four, life begins again at step one.
The table is always developed to meet Möbelfakta's requirements. That is our minimum requirement. It is a tool for us to be able to control the entire chain in an objective way.
More details about how the tables are designed for a circular life can be found on our page Long life, you can also read specifically about one of our Circularheroes, a detail that makes the table possible for future reuse, click here!
