We’re updating our website! Content and structure are continuously being improved — thank you for your patience during this time.
That the environment can’t wait for us to act for improvement is probably something we can all agree on, but what should we do? It’s easy to feel helpless in the face of something as extensive and overwhelming as climate change.
At Lundbergs Möbler, we take a long-term approach to developing furniture that lasts over time – functionally, aesthetically, and environmentally. We view our sustainability work as an ongoing process in which knowledge, transparency, and continuous improvements are essential to creating real change.
We base our efforts on the UN Sustainable Development Goals and work to reduce our environmental impact by making better decisions regarding materials, design, production, and product lifespan. To do so requires facts, measurability, and a willingness to evolve over time.
That is why we have developed third-party verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for all table families. Through life cycle assessments, we gain a clearer picture of the products’ climate impact from raw materials to finished product and throughout the entire life cycle. This helps us identify areas for improvement, prioritize the right actions, and make more well-founded decisions in our development work.
For our customers, this means increased transparency and access to verified climate data that can be used in projects, procurements, and sustainability efforts.
Our furniture design should be timeless, not trendy.
Our tables and chairs should be declared with Möbelfakta and have an LCA/EPD that declares CO2 impact no later than 12 months after launch
The table’s components should be easy to separate and disassemble/assemble without losing stability.
Our tables should be easy to circulate through re:design, refurbishment, and reuse.
It is easy to obtain and replace spare parts. We provide a 10-year spare parts guarantee
The table’s core is always plywood so the top can be reshaped in a circular furniture flow.
The table’s edge strips are solid, over-glued, and 6–10 mm thick to protect the tabletop and be part of a circular furniture flow.
We use thick veneer, at least 1.5 mm thick, that can be re-sanded
Our tables must have a clear height from floor to underside of the top of at least 700 mm. This is so our tables are accessible also for wheelchair users
Long-term good table solutions are more important than selling a table.
Reporting a product’s climate impact is a natural part of our sustainability work. Since we have produced EPDs for all table families, we can now report climate impact – from cradle to grave – for all our table variants.
On each collection page, you will find climate data under the section Emissions, sustainability labels, and agreements. This is part of our effort to be transparent and to create conditions for improvements over time. By measuring CO₂ emissions across the entire life cycle, we see more clearly where we can reduce impact
In our work with refurbishing furniture, we have learned that the degree of disassembly is crucial to the furniture’s lifespan. It affects the possibility of repair and refurbishment, as well as its ability to become part of the circular furniture flow. Since 2018, we have required that all new furniture we develop be designed in a way that enables future refurbishment and reuse.
On the product pages, you will find both assembly and disassembly instructions for each product.
With our environmental goal in focus – that we must do our part to reach at most 1.5 degrees of warming – we are now launching our refurbishment services. Not only for our own models, but brand-independent. For our own models, the goal is to offer circular furniture ownership where we help extend the furniture’s life through good care advice, spare parts, and refurbishment. Taking on other brands’ tables and chairs is to facilitate coordination between existing furniture and new furniture in an interior design project.
Materials for sustainable furniture
To get the function and feel you’re looking for in your table or chair, it depends on the materials. Perhaps it’s the surroundings where the table will stand that require a durable surface that is easy to clean, such as HT laminate. Perhaps you’re looking for the tactile, sound-dampening properties of DT linoleum. Perhaps the chair can stand out with a color that differs from the rest of the interior. Or perhaps Artigo Kayar is the surface material for you – the floor that ended up on the table.
Maintain your table
Just as materials fit in different contexts, they also require different forms of care. If you maintain the tables and chairs regularly, you increase their lifespan and thereby contribute to a more sustainable future, while also facilitating future refurbishments.
To produce reusable furniture with long durability over time, raw materials and construction are essential. We choose materials and construction for our products with care, for both people and the environment. Extracting new raw materials entails a responsibility to manage the resources that have been used, something we take seriously. For us, that means designing and manufacturing wooden furniture with the ambition that it will have a long life. By that we mean that the tables and chairs are not only designed and produced to last a long time, but also to be able to get new lives, with the hope of never being taken out of use.
CIRCULAR FURNITURE FLOW
Our tables are developed to be part of a circular economy. The furniture is tested according to Möbelfakta’s requirements for sustainability: social, economic, and ecological. Within a year after launching a new product, our ambition is to produce an EPD to understand what we can do to reduce theclimate impact.

We offer different types of surface materials so the table can be adapted to real life, provide advice on selection, and have clear care instructions for the materials. A wooden table should be easy to care for and maintain in its interior environment. With the right material for the right environment, it lasts longer.

If an accident happens, a table from us should be easy to repair. The construction allows parts to be disassembled and reassembled again with full function. We offer a 10-year spare parts guarantee, so parts remain available even if the model is discontinued. Furniture from us should be easy to reuse.

After 10–15 years, the table may need a new surface treatment or a replaced part. Since it can be disassembled and materials separated with hand tools, refurbishment is easy. We offer a refurbishment service where
we take back the furniture, freshen it up, and give it a new life. We refurbish regardless of brand.
